Founded in 2002, School of Automobile Engineering continues to deepen the reform of education and teaching as well as actively explore the mode of students’ cultivation, realizing the integration of education and occupation. It does not only cultivate a large number of professional skillful talents in automotive field for national and regional economic development, but also makes extraordinary contribution to the construction and development of the college.

On the basis of market demands, School of Automobile Engineering constantly develop new programs to adapt to the demand of professional skillful talents in automotive after-sale service. With over 3000 students, it offers 5 programs including the automotive inspection and maintenance technology, the automotive inspection and maintenance technology in new energy vehicles, the automotive technical service and marketing, the automotive restricking technology and the automotive application technology in automotive insurance and payment. The automotive inspection and maintenance technology and the automotive restricking technology are key programs of national key vocational colleges of China. The automotive technical service and marketing is financially supported by central government. The automotive inspection and maintenance technology is not only the demonstrative program of Tianjin vocational colleges but also belongs to the first pilot programs of “skillful talents in urgent need cultivating project “conducted by Ministry of Education as well as the bases to cultivate national automotive talents.

School of Automobile Engineering owns an automotive practical training center, an automotive sheet metal correction and painting practical training center and an automotive training center which are technically advanced and fully functional. The centers are equipped with teaching vehicles of various brands, advanced practical training platforms of electronically controlled engine, automatic transmission bedstand, computerized four-wheel alignment system, integrated analysers for engines, vehicle safety performance test lines, inspection and maintenance equipment for various vehicles and advanced practical training and multi-media teaching equipment, etc. Besides, there are some specialized practical training rooms which can accommodate several classes for practical training and teaching at the same time. School of Automobile Engineering exploits the center’s advantages to the full. As the site for automotive maintenance skills competition of Tianjin higer vocational colleges, the school was favorably reviewed by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission and Tianjin Transportation Group Co.,Ltd. In recent years, the students take part in the competitions and got 28 first prizes and 15 second prizes. The students who won the first prizes in Tianjin Skills Competition were recommended for admission to undergraduate universities for further study.

Equipped with abundant good teachers in medium and senior technical titles with solid theoretical knowledge and professional practical skills, the School also hires automotive experts nationwide as guest professors. The teachers, with stong research abilities, take part in many teaching researches and achieve outstanding results in the construction of high quality courses. The electronical control technology of automotive engines and the electronical control technology of automotive chassis are listed in national quality curriculums. The marketing of automobiles and spare parts, the marketing techniques of automobiles and the automotive painting techniques are listed in municipal quality courses. The quality core curriculums are developed, which include the fault diagnosis and repair techniques in electrical control systems of automotive engine, the Diagnosis & Repair on Automotive Safety & Comfort System, and the inspection and maintenance of mechanical systems of automotive engines. The demonstration college curriculums are developed, which include the inspection and maintenance of automotive network systems, the inspection and evaluation of automotive performance and the new energy vehicle technology.

School of Automobile Engineering continues to deepen the cooperation with enterprises, strengthen the combination between learning and practice and cultivate the students’ vocational core competences aiming at realizing the smooth transition from a student to an enterprise employee after learning at school. The School developed off-campus intern bases with dozens of large-sized well-known automotive maintenance enterprises, authorized service stations, insurance and damage assessment enterprises, in addition, it also conducts talent-cultivation mode with ordering form and directive breeding with famous FAW TOYOTA Motor Sales Co. LTD and BOSCH China. With advanced equipments, staff with perfect technical capability and leading ideas in school running, the School guaranteed the possibility of students’ solid knowledge and skills. The well-educated graduates are well-received by employers. In recent five years, the stable employment rate of over 98% is realized.

The School has an excellent team with proactive and dedicated faculty. It was once named the advanced team of ideological and political work in Tianjin education system and Tianjin Municipal outstanding youth league general branch. Furthermore, it has been awarded as advanced team and advanced Party branch in Tianjin Traffic Group and in the college many times.
