Road and Bridge Engineering School was established in 2005. Approved by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, it offers four programs including road and bridge engineering, highway supervision, engineering survey technology and of road engineering test technology. The educational system is three years, and currently there are 1100 students on campus. The college attaches great importance to the construction of School of Road and Bridge Engineering. There are 19 Faculty (full-time and part-time teachers and management faculty) . Teachers have strong Professional practical ability. Aiming at the higher vocational colleges’ educational target of cultivating applied talents with high quality and skills, professional teachers actively participate in teaching reform, arrange the professional courses according to working process, and strengthen practical teaching in order to make the teaching process more close to the worksite. With the strong support of our college, Road and bridge engineering School conducted quality course construction on engineering surveying. Based on the requirement of surveying in practice, professional teachers adjust teaching process, reform teaching methods, and optimize teaching resources. Through the continuing efforts, engineering surveying was awarded as Tianjin municipal quality course by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission in 2010. Roads and Bridge engineering technology program was rated as key program by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission in 2007, and was supported by the central finance in 2011, and was approved as constructive program by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission in 2013.

Road and bridge training center is equipped with measurement training room, hydraulics lab, geological specimen room, cement materials training room, asphalt material training room, road material maintenance training room, engineering structure training room, road engineering training rooms, project testing training rooms, and civil-engineering training room. Fine campus practice teaching environment was provided to students. School of Road and bridge engineering also actively cooperates with enterprises. Students were organized to take part in surveying skill competitions to improve their interests and skills in learning practical technology. 3 students were sent to take part in the "National Traffic Vocational College <South Cup>Engineering Surveying Skills Competition" that were held by the National Transportation Vocational Education Teaching Committee. During the competition, leaders and teachers guided students every aspects timely according to the condition on site, and the students also cooperated actively. They were in high spirits and overcame difficulties one after another, performed high surveying skills level, successfully completed the whole competition. Eventually, they won 1 second prize, 3 third prize in individual competitions, and 1 honorable prize in team competitions. By participating the competition, teaching and management faculty were trained, and reputation of the college were increased.

School of Road and Bridge engineering also signed cooperation agreements on building Road and Bridge majors practice base with road engineering construction enterprises nationally. It provides students with places for participating engineering construction and practicing manipulative ability, and lays a good foundation for students’ future employment after graduation. Now graduates from the School have taken on technical and technical management work in construction sites in various construction companies all over China.
